Just How Lame is your current box relative to a Quad G5?

Benchmark Results at OtherWorldComputing.com

OtherWorld computing has done some benchmarking, and you can compare your computer to a bunch of Macs & PowerMacs, including the new PCIe Macs, and especially including the new Quad 2.5GHz G5s.

You can pick from a checkbox list that is not as specific as I'd like for Final Cut Pro benchmarking as I'd like, but there are tasks like After Effects rendering, Photoshop performance, MPEG-4 exports, etc.

Comments:
My 2.7 is not on the list, and if it was I would rather not know.

My dual 2.5 is not on the list either.

Mine looks pretty f#ckin lame next to that thing. Oh well, my Quad should be here soon! :)

Still want to see if 1080i HDV render to H.264 is faster. Apple's page is a little coy on this issue, talking only about the improvement in SD rendering.

Real-world feedback is still MIA on the quads. X-Bench has a mixed following as far as accuracy and a lot of the other tests don't address as much as a real hands-on task would.

There was a little blurb that was more useful on xlr8yourmac.com today that started to give me a real sense of what to expect though. That guy wrote that "Final Cut Pro runs like butter". Whatever that means it's still good to hear.

I will have mine on Thursday according to FedEx anyway.
