Red One pictured with HVX200 and F900

So that's an HVX200 on the right, the Spike Red One prototype in the middle, and a Sony F900 on the left.

Hmm....as Jim says, "Size matters..."

The Red One prototype as pictured has no LCD or EVF or battery, but is still a very small camera considering what it delivers.

Jim also has another picture from another viewing angle posted at:

Size matters... - Page 4 - Reduser.net

(same original pic and discussion at same link)

Really striking to see this in comparison - add a battery, swap out the optical port for the Red Flash module, add the LCD, and you've got yourself a lightweight package suitable for steadicam work. F900? 3:1:1, 1440x1080, 8 bit, 30p max....and over five times the price. Hmm. Which would you rather have?

Spike will be able to record 4K RAW up to 30p, or 2K RAW up to 60p in this kind of a portable, self contained config. Not bad!

Comments:
Hey Mike. Red's site states, and I quote, "...4K at 60 frames per second RAW..."

Not sure which is correct, 30 or 60.

60fps RAW out the raw port, 30fps to a drive with REDCODE...

4K@30p to the onboard recorder, 60p possible off the high speed optical port to a DDR like RedRAID

i am still not sold on the cage concept since it seems like that will actually bulk the camera up more... but.... I'm not canceling my order.
