Wal-Mart Holiday 4 us - $98 Toshiba HD-A2 players

Wal-Mart Holiday

This Friday 8am, not all stores, probably only a handful of sacrificial lambs per store.

But that is the same HD DVD player I have at about 1/4 of the price.

If they can sell'em in volume for even twice that price, this might be an HD Christmas for a lot of folks.

Thanks to reader Jonathan for sending this in.

Workin' on more Spain 4K footage and analysis...

Comments:
It won't be an HD X-Mas for me -- I absolutely refuse to buy a player if I know some studios will not release content for it. Blu-ray vs. HD-DVD is the worst thing to happen to the media industry for years, and it makes me sick the studios didn't work together to back a single HD optical disc technology. So, they will get none of my money. DVDs are fine for me for now. It's a shame it's come to this.

Walmart had 24 @ 7:45 and when I was leaving out the door with 3 @ 8:00, they were sold out. Great deal even if it's not 1080p!
