Nikon D90 vs Red’s Scarlet - Specdown!

ProVideo Coalition.com: Camera Log by Mike Curtis | Founder | HD for Indies: "Nikon D90 vs Red’s Scarlet - Specdown!
Does the Nikon D90 pose a threat to (the specs only of) Red’s Scarlet?"

No, not really, but interesting to see what it implies for the market at large in the future.
Comments:
It has HDMI out. It can do 1080 and there is much confusion. ;)

I talked to Nikon and they are going to look at turning off the overlay so capture can be done. Whether it's worth doing is a whole other thing.

I'm gonna get one. I have Nikon lenses from way back. My Nikkor 135/2.8 is a beautiful thing..

Well the 5D 2 vid is amazing. Kicks the D90 to the curb.

Scarlett is gone. Some new thing will emerge it appears.

I guess the SLRs won. That was quick. This may scare the EXDCAM even. About $3500 with a nice lens and very fine still capacity ... I'd say RED is in trouble.

I just made a post on my blog about this same thing. I can't wait to see what comes of the scarlet do-over. I am looking forward to a combo still/video camera that has all the bells and whistles.

by the way, you can check out my blog at hdupdate.com for more info about the scarlet redo, and the upcoming canon 5D Mark II
