Any UI is just a shadow of the command line it invokes.
You can't fix a spec busted SATA DVD BURNER, LG's comes to mind, by clicking on your GUI.
BUt:
growisofs --use-the-force-luke=dao --dvd-compat -Z /dev/hdd=/my/file/path.iso
Will work just fine. Forcing DAO is just what is needed.
Use-the-force-luke are undocumented switches. We got to maintain our exclusivity somehow. ;)
